The Viñita Formation is a geological formation in Coquimbo, Chile, whose strata date back to the Late Cretaceous (Santonian to Maastrichtian). Dinosaur remains are among the fossils that have been recovered from the formation.

  • Pichasca area, 40 km NE of Ovalle; N flank of the Río Hurtado, NW of the pueblo of Pichasca. States as 30° 20' S, 70° 54' W but estimate from map is more specific. Ref 59606: "an area of approximately 25 km^2 on the north flank of the Hurtado River, northwest of the town of Pichasca and 10 km east in a straight line from the town of Samo Alto."
