Étymologie Crête rayée de ''ban'', rayure et ''ji'', crête

Banji est un genre fossile de petits dinosaures appartenant à la famille des Oviraptoridae, groupe de théropodes à plumes. Il a vécu à la fin du Crétacé supérieur dans ce qui est actuellement la Chine. Ce genre est resté monotypique et la seule espèce fossile connue est Banji long.
