Étymologie Petit voleur

Microraptor est un genre fossile de petits dinosaures saurischiens de la famille des Dromaeosauridae du biote de Jehol de Chine, datant du Crétacé inférieur, il y a 120 millions d'années. Comme Archaeopteryx, il démontre le très proche lien de parenté entre Dromaeosauridaes et oiseaux. Comme ces derniers, Microraptor possède des pennes sur les pattes et la queue.
