Étymologie De ''Tethys'', l’océan qui entourait l’île sur laquelle vivait ce dinosaure et ''hadros'' indiquant l’appartenance de cet animal aux hadrosauroïdes.

Tethyshadros est un genre fossile de dinosaures herbivores ornithopodes, un membre basal de la super-famille des hadrosauroïdes ayant vécu en Europe à la fin du Crétacé supérieur, soit il y a environ 72 Ma.
