Etymology De ''Tethys'', l’océan qui entourait l’île sur laquelle vivait ce dinosaure et ''hadros'' indiquant l’appartenance de cet animal aux hadrosauroïdes.

Tethyshadros is a genus of hadrosauroid dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous (Campanian) Lipica Formation of Trieste, Italy. The type and only species is T. insularis.
