Etymology
De ''Histria'', le nom Latin de l’Istrie, la région de Croatie d’où provient le spécimen, et du Grec ''sauros'', lézard.
Histriasaurus (HIS-tree-ah-SAWR-us) is a genus of sauropod dinosaur from the Early Cretaceous of Croatia. It has been suggested to be a rebbachisaurid, and if so one of the oldest known members of the group.
